School’s out. Time for fun and adventure! First, we relax on the couch, sharing a drink and a story. And after that? Do whatever you want and with whom you want; go on an adventure inside or outside or participate in one of our activities. The after school care (NSO) is not an extension of school, but free time. Children can choose freely what they want to do. Of course, always under expert guidance. But that’s not all. On all working days our after school care centers offer free transport to various pools in Hilversum and surroundings for swimming lessons. Or hockey or soccer training at various sports clubs. The subscription for the sports club is for your own account. Sporty children from 8 years can also choose for Sportkids, our sport after-school care center.
19 after-school care centers
After school care is meant for children from 4 to 12 years, after school, during school holidays and study days. Almost all elementary schools are connected to one of our after-school care locations. Children can therefore always go to the after-school care centre with their school friends.
Regular after-school care
In regular after-school care children visit the after-school care center weekly on fixed days. We collect them at school, on foot or by van. The after-school care centers are open until 18.30 h. During holidays or study days, our centers are opened whole days. For each fixed day of child care during school weeks you will receive 10 additional days per year to spend on holidays and study days (except for the days between Christmas and New Year).
The childcare allowance is linked to the number of hours worked by the least working partner. Parents may declare 70% of the hours worked on childcare allowance for after-school care. To prevent parents from exceeding the 70% standard, SKH offers the following solution: if your child visits the after-school care centre at least 2 afternoons per week, including a long afternoon, you may hand in a maximum of 5 vacation days when you exceed the 70% standard.
Flexible child care
We offer custom-made child care when you work flexible hours. This is possible when you register your child for at least two afternoons per week. Flexible child care is charged by the hour. We make no distinction between 'long' (Wednesday) or ‘short’ (Tuesday) afternoons. During the holidays flexible child care can be complemented with flexible holiday child care. You determine per holiday whether and how many days your child needs daycare, with a minimum number of 5 vacation days per year.
Flexible holiday child care
This form of child care allows you to schedule child care during the school holidays, with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year. We are closed this week. You can choose to spread these days over the year, as well as the choice of the days. We do, however, like to see your child at least 10 days per year. You can also spend these days for a study day, provided that the occupation and capacity of the day care centre allow this.
After-school care for special primary education
SKH has one after-school care center for children of the special primary education: Bink. Bink is meant for children of SBO Het Mozaïek, C. Hummelingschool and the Annie M.G. Schmidt school. We take care of the children in a small group and offer them, just like at school, a structured and well-organized offer. Bink is opened on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.
Kind Centraal (The Child Prioritised)
Since 2008 SKH has a new pedagogical method: The Child Prioritised. Children are free to choose from a wide range of activities. So we can respond even better to the various interests of children.
